Ecolab Nears Deal for KKR’s Data-Center Cooling Company

Ecolab is nearing a deal to acquire data-center cooling company CoolIT Systems from KKR for between $4.5 billion and $5 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. The price tag is a staggering jump from the company’s roughly $270 million valuation when KKR acquired a majority stake in 2023. CoolIT makes liquid-cooling systems that are used in data centers.
